NEW: the boy who waltzed
With a head full of stars - and eyes of turquoise - the boy swayed with intent. Standing in the middle of others without seeing - stroking his cheek - the kiss still fresh against his sliding fingertips - a kiss - soft - warm - fizzing with intent. He was humming a song - he couldn't remember many of the words - couldn't remember the song - but words played in his head - smacked up tight against the concave of his skull - they left his lips - soft and sweet - "the love of a stranger wrapped my heart in a dream". He circled himself - as if he were in a waltz - he was belle of the ball - centre of his moment in time. He hummed - placing his feet where he thought they should be - for his waltz. He was seventeen with a head full of stars - eyes of rich turquoise - cheek of burning fire - and a grin that could reach Saturn. In a crowd he couldn't see - he hummed and swirled - hummed and swirled - living the grand illusion - living the cosmic dream.
