NEW: a rainbow's snare

The boy sat motionless - surrounded by visions erupting from a rainbow's snare. His eyelids fluttered - non-seeing - but he saw. He saw the infinite sparkle on a starry night with no street lamps - saw the sun cascade in slivers across a warm summer sea - saw the brief heartbeat in the patter of raindrops on the surface of a distant world - saw the casual glint in the eyes of a thousand gods as they danced on the edge of the cosmos. His fingers - long and slender - flowed through sliding sand - across thick spring moss - through water as fine as air. His naked feet wandered without moving - across the dust-laden plains of the dead - across the endlessly shifting oceans of the living - across the stellar clouds as they strode with purpose. With ropes of steel twisted around his nervous - beating heart - the boy - lips moist and open - reached out and brushed - with gentle intent - the soft warm lips of a random god.
