NEW: ghost in the face.

"Skeletons in the cupboard?"

"Not skeletons. Ghosts."

"Are the two not one and the same?"

Nathaniel visibly winced at the generalisation. "No, they are not. Comfort yourself in being ignorant of the difference."

The older man turned to Nathaniel, irritated at his obvious know-it-all-attitude. He was about to tell him so, in no uncertain terms, when he saw something on the younger man's face, something that flitted across his smooth visage, something unworldly, haunting, a true ghost. It took the older man's breath away, and he shifted his body backwards, towards the open doorway, involuntarily wanting to escape from what he had just seen. It had only been a moment, a flicker of time, but that something that appeared to slide across Nathaniel's face, told him more than he ever wanted to know about the younger man, a man he could no longer, and would no longer fully trust.
