It was a pitiful word, so much more so when whispered. The word thumped around his head, stroked his cheek, kissed his thigh - lascivious gods with needs. The word made him sick, made him gorge, made him flutter with intent - for the word was holy, and it had an eye of silver and of gold that blinked in the morning light.
