CONNECTIONS

Two older women, arm in arm. An empty bin bag flutters in the breeze. They stop. One picks up the bag, holds it for a while, and then passes it to a young man with a smile. He has a slight beard and long pony tail. he is picking up rubbish and emptying bins, his job. He smiles in thanks to her. She says something to him as he begins to walk away, but rather that ignoring her, he stops, turns, smiles, replies, and then walks away. The two women pass along, still smiling, still arm in arm.
